St. Patrick’s Day Snack Idea

March 7, 2017 By Katie

Get your kids in the holiday spirit with this St. Patrick’s Day snack idea. All you need is your favorite green fruits and veggies and favorite dip!

It feels a little silly writing a blog post about fruit in bowls and a Greek yogurt dip to go alongside, but since I received such a great response from the idea when I originally shared this St. Patrick’s Day snack idea in my newsletter earlier this month, I figured hey, why not make it into a quick blog post for others to reference!

While I’m used to drinking green beer on St. Patrick’s Day, things have changed [just a little] since having kids. Now I tend to make a festive food-treat around holidays, perhaps with one or two green beers for Mom and Dad. In fact, we are swapping green beer for green smoothies these days!

The premise for this St. Patrick’s Day snack is super simple: pick your favorite green fruits and veggies, cut them into snack-size pieces, and serve alongside your favorite dip! You could even have your kids help you “kabob” the fruit and veggies, to make them more hand-held and fun.

For reference, here’s the Greek yogurt dip recipe I used in this image. And of course, I plated some of our favorite green fruits! Want some green veggies? Think celery, cucumber, and green bell pepper slices!

So, here’s to hoping the luck o’ the Irish brings you some fun and delicious snacking this St. Patrick’s Day. I know I’ll be hosting a playdate and bringing out this snack idea! But if you are attending a school party or work potluck, consider it an option as well.
